We have achieved peak gaming, my friends. Forget about your Secretlab and their cool ads, or Herman Miller and their Embody with Logitech stickers. Today I present to you the pinnacle of gaming chairs, the McCrispy Ultimate Gaming Chair from the golden arches themselves, McDonald’s. Gaming has truly ascended.
Yes, your eyes do not fool you, McDonald’s has made a gaming chair designed to fuel not just your gaming desires, but also with a couple of choice features for the fast-food enthusiast that lives in your arteries. Named after the McCrispy chicken burger, this gaming chair comes with a “burger heat zone” that can keep your chicken burger warm.
And yes, I said chicken burger because I believe that a burger is defined by the bun not the patty. A beef patty betwixt two slices of white bread, makes a burger it does not!
On top of the appropriately named heat zone, the gaming chair also comes with “dedicated fries and dip holders” to leave your fries and dipping sauce out of harms way while you game, without compromising on the ease of access. The chair is also made of “stain proof” leather and also appears to have adjustable lumbar support and a pillow with McCrispy stylishly written in italics. There’s even a handy-dandy rag holder to wipe up any potential messes you may make whilst you have your snack.
If you’re a Malaysian gamer, you’ll be glad to know that it comes in our national football team’s hitam-kuning colourway so you’re already immediately associated with the spirit of the Harimau Malaya. It is almost like it was made specifically for us.
Unfortunately, it is not. Instead, this chair seems to only be available as a giveaway reward for the gamers in the UK (and I don’t mean Ulu Kelang). That being said, I know many Malaysians consider Britain a second home so maybe there’s a chance you can get your hands on one of these to bring back to the motherland.
This isn’t fast-food’s first foray into the gaming world. Two years ago, fried-chicken chain KFC launched the KFConsole—a gaming console that was made in collaboration with Cooler Master. This next-gen device came equipped with a world’s first chicken chamber that’ll help keep your chicken warm while you game. The best part? It was reusing the heat that was naturally created by the console during gaming so the harder the you game, the warmer your thighs. Chicken thighs, that is.
While it may seem peculiar for McDonald’s to foray into the gaming scene, there’s actually more connection to gaming and eSports here than you think. Besides the obvious fact that we as human beings occasionally consume fast food, it’s been a pretty common saying among fans and players that when a player’s contract is up or they are unable to find a team in the off-season that they’ll be working for McDonald’s.
Now, I’m not entirely sure where this started from, but it sure gained popularity in the League of Legends eSports scene when founder of TSM, Andy “Reginald” Dinh engaged in some “Twitter drama” with EG support Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme.
U saying id work at mcdonalds man?

Since then, the meme spread like wildfire, even leading to calling teams of un-signed pro gamers who scrim during the off-season “Team McDonald’s”. Of course, there’s no official confirmation on whether these two incidents are related, but there is certainly history here.
I don’t know about you, but I personally think that this is revelation of gaming. The only thing that would make this chair better would be if it had RGB lighting. I can’t believe Big Maccas themselves would drop the ball like this. But it’s OK, now that I’ve given you the idea for improvement, it’s time to make a difference Mekdi. You’re welcome.
