Did Pokemon Go accidentally LEAK a new Pokemon for Scarlet and Violet?

A lot of the new Pokemon creatures are usually revealed in the games themselves when they finally get released—besides the main starters and some others that get teased beforehand. However, way before Pokemon Scarlet and Violet get released, it looks like there is a new Pokemon that leaked on Pokemon Go—a “coin-based” creature.

A Pokemon Go data miner found a cute little bug Pokemon with antennae and a little coin on its back by going through the files of a new Pokemon Go update. It apparently also matched a similar Pokemon that appeared briefly in a Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer from October.

According to the data miner, the Pokemon is listed in a file called “pmMystery” as Pokemon No. 1,080. However, Pokemon Go only has 3D assets for the new Pokémon.

Despite not even being a confirmed creature in the new upcoming Pokemon games yet, prominent Pokemon leakers Riddler Khu and Centro Leaks first mentioned a Coin Pokemon months ago. It was mentioned that the creature will be “hard to catch”.

The upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games are coming to the Nintendo Switch on 18 November 2022. Previously, Nintendo officially teased a ghost dog Pokemon that seemed like it almost killed someone in the trailer. It’s adorable, nonetheless.
