Right after launching their flagship Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro smartphones, Huawei also took the chance to debut their Nova 10 series of smartphones. These feature both midrange and upper midrange smartphones and will go on sale right after their flagship counterparts.

Huawei Nova 10 series Malaysia pricing and availability

There will be three different models in the Huawei Nova 10 series, namely the Nova 10, Nova 10 SE and the Nova 10 Pro. They will be available for pre-order on the Huawei eStore as well as their official store on Shopee and Lazada from the 12 November till 17 November. Here’s how much they’ll cost:

  • Huawei Nova 10, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage – RM2,199
  • Huawei Nova 10 Pro, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage – RM2,599
  • Huawei Nova 10 SE, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage – RM1,499

If you pre-order a Nova 10 or a Nova 10 Pro, you’ll also be eligible for free gifts worth RM590, which include a free Huawei Watch Fit and Huawei Mobile Services rewards.

Huawei Nova 10 Pro specs

Starting off with the Nova 10 Pro, it packs a 6.78-inch, FHD+ OLED curved edge display while also pushing a 120Hz refresh rate. Underneath that you’ll find an upper midrange Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor mated to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It should be pointed out though that despite being a 5G capable chip this one’s locked to just 4G connectivity. The Nova 10 Pro will also come with EMUI 12 out of the box and no Google Mobile Services of course.

In the camera department meanwhile you’ll find a triple rear camera setup, with a main 50MP, f/1.8 “Ultra Vision Photography” camera flanked by an 8MP, f/2.2 ultrawide macro shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. In front meanwhile there’s a double front camera setup, with a main 60MP, f/2.4 selfie shooter flanked by an 8MP portrait close up camera.

Elsewhere, the Nova 10 Pro also has a 4,500mAh battery with 100W Huawei SuperCharge fast charging, stereo speakers, a fingerprint sensor and support for WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC. The Nova 10 Pro comes in two colourways, Starry Silver and Starry Black.

Huawei Nova 10 specs

As for the non-Pro Nova 10, at first glance it does look like the Nova 10 Pro, even coming with the same Starry Silver and Starry Black colourways as well as the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chip under the hood with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. You’ll also find a very similar rear camera setup, with a 50MP main camera flanked by an 8MP ultrawide macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. However, there are a number of incremental downgrades on the Nova 10 compared to its Pro sibling.

For starters, the screen is slightly smaller, as the Nova 10 has a 6.67-inch, FHD+ OLED display though it does also push a 120Hz refresh rate. The Nova 10 also loses out on the second selfie shooter, coming with just a single 60MP front facing camera.

As for its battery, the Nova 10 comes with a smaller 4,000mAh battery with 66W Huawei SuperCharge fast charging, along with stereo speakers and a fingerprint sensor. It also supports WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC connectivity.

Huawei Nova 10 SE specs

Lastly, we have perhaps the runt of the litter here with the Nova 10 SE. It has a 6.67-inch, FHD+ OLED display just like the Nova 10, but unlike the Nova 10 it doesn’t have a 120Hz refresh rate, instead capping out at just 90Hz.

Also unlike the other two in the Nova 10 lineup, the Nova 10 SE has a more midrange chip in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680. That gets mated to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It too will come with EMUI 12 out of the box with no GMS supported.

As for the camera, the Nova 10 SE has a markedly different camera setup than its Nova 10 series stablemates. Rather than a main 50MP shooter, the Nova 10 SE has a 108MP, f/1.9 main camera flanked by an 8MP, f/2.2 ultrawide camera along with a 2MP, f/2.4 macro lens. Up front, the Nova 10 SE also doesn’t get the 60MP selfie shooter, instead replaced by a more modest 16MP, f/2.2 front facing camera.

Elsewhere, the Nova 10 SE has a 4,500mAh battery with 66W Huawei SuperCharge fast charging, a fingerprint sensor as well as support for WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC. You’ll be able to get it in three colourways, Starry Silver, Starry Black and Mint Green.
