Planning a trip up to the Genting SkyWorlds theme park anytime soon? You might want to plan your trip in advance and get tickets online first, as Genting Malaysia has announced that they will be increasing ticket prices for its theme park if you were to buy it on site.

According to Genting Malaysia, they have increased the price of a ticket for one person to enter Genting SkyWorlds to RM170, up from the previous price of RM151. This only applies to tickets bought there in-person though, as tickets bought online will still cost you just RM151. Genting Malaysia added to The Edge that this is part of a new online versus on-site ticket pricing strategy, with the goal being to provide Genting SkyWorlds visitors a better experience even before they’ve made the trip up there as they won’t need to queue up to get a ticket.

“Effective 01.11.2022, there will be adjustments to the Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park ticket prices. All online tickets will need to be booked at least one day in advance. To avoid any disappointment, please purchase your tickets online for greater savings with our exclusive deals,” – Genting SkyWorlds announcement

If you do get your ticket online, you’ll also be able to make use of the Genting SkyWorlds virtual queue (VQ) system via their app. Each regular day ticket comes with six VQ reservations, which you can use to pre-book slots on any rise that you want to go on. The app will then tell you what time slots are available and how long you’ll need to wait before being able to get on. Furthermore, some of the more popular rides will also only be available via the VQ system to avoid long crowds. You’ll also be able to book spots on multiple rides, allowing you to plan your day out in advance rather than spending most of it in queue.

As for the raised ticket prices for on-site purchases, Genting Malaysia still says that after the price hike, the SkyWorlds theme park still has a ‘soft opening price’, in reference to how the theme park remains in its soft opening phase after being opened to the public earlier this year.
