A new challenger has arrived in the local gaming smartphone scene. Nubia’s Redmagic line of gaming smartphones is now officially available in Malaysia, with the Chinese brand launching the RedMagic 7S Pro here.
RedMagic 7S Pro Malaysian pricing and availability
The RedMagic 7S Pro will be available for purchase starting from 29 October onwards. You’ll be able to find it on sale at the RedMagic official store on Lazada, as well as their retail partners nationwide such as DirectD and Mobile 2 Go. Here’s how much it’ll cost you:

- RedMagic 7S Pro, 18GB RAM, 512GB storage – RM4,999
If you do plan to get the RedMagic 7S Pro, there are some freebies in store for early bird purchases too. Between 29 October to 13 November, all RedMagic 7S Pro buyers will also get a free HeyPlus 1S Band worth RM299 and an additional year of warranty worth RM199.
RedMagic 7S Pro specifications
Being a flagship gaming smartphone, the RedMagic 7S Pro comes with the latest and greatest processor of course in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 system-on-chip mated to up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. However, it perhaps has an extra trick up its sleeve as on top of the 10 layer cooling system, the RedMagic 7S Pro also has a built-in fan for even more cooling. And in typical gamer fashion, the fan has RGB lighting too.
Its display meanwhile is also quite impressive. You’re looking at a 6.8-inch, FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It pushes up to 600nits of brightness too, and has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 over it for scratch resistance. While that 120Hz refresh rate might not seem as impressive compared to the ROG Phone 6’s 165Hz or the Black Shark 5 Pro’s 144Hz refresh rate, what RedMagic has going for it here is its under-display camera.
The Black Shark 5 Pro has a cutout for its front camera, while the ROG Phone 6 has some pretty thick bezels on top to house its selfie shooter. The RedMagic 7S Pro however has thinner bezels while still keeping a fullscreen display by using an under-display camera for its selfie shooter. The front camera in question is a 16MP shooter, with the rear of the RedMagic 7S Pro coming with a main 64MP camera flanked by an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro lens.
Elsewhere, there’s a 5,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging, stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio jack as well as touch sensors on the side of the device that act as shoulder buttons when gaming, similar to that of the ROG Phone 6. The RedMagic 7S Pro comes in three colourways, which are the translucent Mercury and Supernova along with the opaque Obsidian.
Overall, it’s a fairly interesting addition to the flagship gaming smartphone scene. Compared to the ROG Phone 6 and the Black Shark 5 Pro, the RedMagic 7S Pro offers its own unique features such as the RGB cooling fan and under-display camera. However, it is priced a little higher than the other two; the ROG Phone 6 starts at RM3,599 while the Black Shark 5 Pro starts at RM3,699.
