Tune Talk removes daily FUP for Pek Jimat “unlimited” prepaid plans

Tune Talk has recently introduced its Pek Jimat “unlimited” prepaid plans that came with a couple of complicated restrictions. Besides having different speed caps at different times of the day, the MVNO also imposes two layers of Fair Usage Policy (FUP) – monthly and daily. Interestingly, presumably after public feedback, Tune Talk appears to have removed the 5GB daily cap.

To refresh your memory, the new Pek Jimat Plans were introduced with the following FUP:

  • Fokus 33 – 50GB quota per month, 5GB per day.
  • Fokus 40 – 60GB quota per month, 5GB per day.
  • Bebas 55 – 80GB quota per month, 5GB per day
Old Daily FUP for Tune Talk Pek Jimat

Once you’ve hit your daily quota, your internet speeds will be throttled to 256kbps as it will utilise the Free basic internet quota. You will only regain full speed after the daily FUP refreshes at 12.01 am the next day.

Terms and Conditions – Left: Before with 5GB daily cap, Right: Latest version without daily cap.

At the moment, Tune Talk has removed all references to the 5GB daily FUP. The FAQ on the daily FUP has been removed, while the terms and conditions for each plan only mentions the monthly FUP.

This is certainly a good update as Tune Talk Fokus 33, Fokus 40 and Bebas 55 users are free to utilise their full monthly FUP with fewer restrictions. This also means that Fokus 33 users are able to utilise all 50GB of data in a single day.

For more info, you can check out the Tune Talk Pek Jimat page.

Thanks AcapNetwork88 for the heads up!
