Always wanted to digitalise your business but don’t know how to get started? Celcom is currently running its Business Tech Week at its headquarters in Petaling Jaya which brings together a host of solution providers covering mobile, fixed, IoT, cloud and cybersecurity. Whether you’re a small business owner or running a medium to large-scale enterprise, the event aims to support and accelerate digital adoption to help optimise their daily operations.
Celcom is already widely known as a mobile telco but the company wants to be seen as an enabler and accelerator for businesses. To help drive digital adoption, Celcom has collaborated with 39 technology partners which include 24 Malaysian-based organisations. These partners include Virtue Integrated, Mesinkira, GPSFleet, XR Associates, Axiata, UBCT, Infront, Huawei, Samsung, Tapway, Cybereason, Bridgenet, Telefonica Tech, LGMS, Vigilant Asia, VR Live and more. Cybersecurity company Bridgenet and Cloud consulting firm Infront were recently acquired by Celcom in 2021.
Celcom’s Chief Operations Officer and Chief Enterprise Business Officer Afizulazha Abdullah said “As the nation is rapidly growing digitally, Celcom, as a pertinent industry player, works towards ensuring enterprises are well-equipped with the latest technology solutions for their businesses.”
He added, “Many organisations, be it small or large, are aware that they need to digitalise their businesses in today’s digital ecosystem but may not know what the latest technology and solutions in the market are. Our Celcom Business Tech Week addresses the common challenges that are faced by many, with the application of technology solutions into their businesses. To keep up with the changes, organisations need a partner that will not only keep them moving but also inspire them to grow and thrive more. A partner like Celcom Business.”
During the media preview event, he iterated that the showcases on display are no longer just demo or pilot projects, but actual solutions that can be utilised by businesses today. You don’t have to be a big company to start integrating these IoT solutions and they welcome small businesses and startups.
Some of the interesting showcases include a vehicle tracking solution to help fleet operators monitor their lorries via live GPS. Not only it can improve efficiency but it also increases safety and security for the lorry drivers and the fleet. There’s also a Smart Poultry System which allows farmers to track the chicken growth and environmental conditions of the farm as well as to automate critical functions for greater efficiency.
Some of the showcases were shown previously during the 5G Demonstration Projects which include smart surveillance with high-resolution cameras. These digital solutions have been deployed commercially and visitors can see the high-resolution cameras that are currently deployed at Langkawi Port and Langkawi’s tourist spots.
For companies with specific connectivity requirements, Celcom also offers various solutions to ensure high-performance connectivity for your operations. This may include extending mobile coverage in hard-to-reach and challenging environments such as underground premises, in the middle of the jungle or in a thick armoured vehicle.
Other interesting digital solutions on display also include robotics, virtual reality and mixed reality for learning, gaming and advertising. For retail businesses, there are smart people-tracking solutions that can identify shopper patterns, attention, demographics and queue analysis. Equally as important is cybersecurity and there are various solutions available for digital risk management and endpoint detection and response.
