Apple has pushed out its iOS and iPadOS 15.6.1 update which focuses on fixing security vulnerabilities. According to the description, the issue involves the Kernel and WebKit which allow applications or web content to execute an arbitrary code. Apple says the issue may have been actively exploited and both were reported by an anonymous researcher.

The update is currently being pushed to all iOS 15 compatible devices which include the iPhone 6s and above, as well as iPhone SE. iPad users can also get the update via iPadOS 15.6.1 which is available for all iPad Pro models as well as iPad Air 2 and above. To update your devices, just go to Settings > General > Software Update.

For users on the Mac, Apple is also patching up the security vulnerability via macOS 12.5.1. To update, click on the Apple menu > About This Mac and then go to Software Update.

In case you missed it, Apple will be releasing iOS 16 very soon in conjunction with the upcoming iPhone 14 series which is expected to be announced early next month. The new mobile operating system brings several cool new features including a new customisable lock screen with depth effects for your favourite photos. Security is also a big thing for Apple and you can learn about the new privacy and security features that are coming soon to your supported iPhone. iOS 16 is compatible with the iPhone 8 as well as iPhone SE (2nd gen) and above.
