Digi Prepaid Next 20 offers 15GB high-speed data and unlimited social for RM20/month

Digi has released a new Prepaid Next option which appears to be one of the best value for money RM20 prepaid plans. This seems to be an interesting alternative to Yoodo’s 20GB for RM20 promo and U Mobile’s U25 “Unlimited” plan, which is also going for RM20 per month.

For RM20/month, Next 20 offers 15GB of high-speed data. However, if you enable auto-renewal for the plan, you’ll get unlimited social for TikTok, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, plus an additional 1GB of data for hotspot. While it is 5GB less than Yoodo’s 20GB promo, the unlimited social promo could be more worthwhile for heavy users of TikTok and Instagram.

It is worth pointing out that unlimited social feature has a speed cap of 3Mbps. Voice calls are not included and it will cost you 20 sen per minute for calls, while SMS is charged at 10 sen each. Interestingly, the promo page for Next 20 states that it’s offered from 1st June to 31st July 2022, so there’s a possibility that this could be a limited-time offer. The next higher option is NEXT 30 at RM30/month which offers 20GB of high-speed data, unlimited social, and 2GB of extra hotspot quota.

You can learn more on the Digi Prepaid Next page.

For youths aged between 12 to 24 years old, Digi will soon offer a “Pakej Data Khas Belia” edition for the Next 20 plan. In addition to 15GB of high-speed data, 1GB hotspot and unlimited social, the plan also offers extra 5GB of data and unlimited calls for 12 months. The Next 20 plan for youths will be offered at Digi Stores.

If you’re looking for RM20 prepaid plan with unlimited voice calls, the U Mobile U25 is probably the better option. Currently going for RM20/month (Normal price: RM25), the plan offers “unlimited” data at 3Mbps with a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 30GB/month, along with unlimited domestic calls within Malaysia. If you need high speeds, the U25 plan comes with 30 hours of speed boosters which lets you activate maximum performance for 1 hour per day.
