Zotac’s new Mini PC runs Windows 11 and has dual 4K output, proves that 4 inches is enough

Computex 2022 is happening this week, and as usual the computer hardware expo will be host to some weird and wacky stuff too. Zotac, the company perhaps more synonymous with making graphics cards, happened to be at Computex, and showed off their new ZBOX PI336 Pico mini PC too.

The Zotac ZBOX PI336 Pico won’t be winning any awards for performance any time soon, but what’s really interesting about it is its size. It measures just 115mm x 76mm (4.53-inches x 2.99-inches) in size, with a thickness of just 20.7mm (0.81-inches). That is almost exactly as small as my wallet that I carry with me everyday, coming in with a total volume of just 0.18L. It’s also VESA mountable, with the VESA mounting bracket nearly the same size as the entire chassis of the ZBOX PI336 Pico.

Under the hood though you’ll find an Intel Celeron N6211, a dual core, dual thread Elkhart Lake CPU with a base clock of 1.2GHz rising to a 3.0GHz boost clock. Performance may not be its highlight, but you got to remember that it practically just sips power with its 6.5W TDP. It gets mated to 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and has 128GB of eMMC storage. The ZBOX PI336 Pico will be super silent too, considering that there’s no fans here as it’s passively cooled. It even comes with Windows 11 Pro out of the box.

Where the Zotac ZBOX PI336 Pico shines though is arguably its video output. It may just have Intel UHD integrated graphics, but it can output through both a HDMI 2.0 port and a DisplayPort 1.4 port, both at 4K resolutions too. This arguably makes it ideal for situations like a quick and easy home entertainment solution or for digital signage, or even to power a point-of-sales system in a retail environment. Thanks to its small size, it’s both portable when it needs to be and yet can be tucked away behind a wall or display with ease.

Other features of note include a microSD card reader, an Ethernet port, two USB-A 3.1 ports, a USB-C 3.1 port, a 3.5mm audio combo jack as well as WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. The whole thing gets powered by a 5V DC input. In the box you’ll also get a number of different plug types to fit various types of power sockets out there. There’s no information just yet on pricing and availability though so if you’re interested you’ll need to wait for Zotac to provide more details.
