Shortly after introducing the Galaxy M33 5G in March, Samsung Malaysia is launching yet another affordable 5G smartphone that will be sold exclusively online. The new device is the Samsung Galaxy M23 5G and you can get it with a RM200 discount when you purchase it on Shopee Malaysia during its launch day promo.

The Samsung Galaxy M23 5G with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is officially priced at RM1,299 in Malaysia. It’s currently available for purchase but you can get it for RM1,099 on 5th May 2022 via the official online store on Shopee. The device is offered in 3 colours – Light Blue, Orange Copper and Deep Green.
Samsung Galaxy M23 5G Specs
The Samsung Galaxy M23 5G appears to be a cheaper alternative to the Galaxy M33 5G. Upfront, it still gets a 6.6″ Full HD+ TFT display which pushes a 120Hz refresh rate. Instead of an Exynos processor, the M23 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G. This is the same processor that’s powering last year’s Samsung Galaxy A52 5G.
For Malaysia, the Galaxy M23 5G comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage, which is expandable via microSD card up to 1TB. The device also supports Samsung’s RAM Plus feature which lets you convert available storage to up to 6GB of extra RAM for better multi-tasking performance.
In the camera department, it gets a triple-camera setup at the rear that consists of a 50MP f/1.8 main camera, 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 2MP macro camera. Upfront, the tiny “Infinity-V” notch houses an 8MP ultra-wide selfie camera that offers 123-degree angle of view.
Powering the device is a rather large 5,000mAh battery which supports 25W Super Fast Charging via USB-C. However, the Shopee listing mentions that the phone only comes with a 15W fast charging power adapter in the box. The device still gets a 3.5mm headphone jack and comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It is also listed to run on Android 11 with One UI skin on top.
