If you’ve noticed that online Maybank services have been pretty slow recently—or if you’ve noticed that your bank balance is at RM0—you’re not the only one. Maybank released a statement on social media saying that they are “currently experiencing intermittent slowness” on the MAE app, M2U MY app, and Maybank2u web.
“Kindly be informed that we are currently experiencing intermittent slowness on MAE app, M2U MY app and Maybank2u web. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and are working to resolve the matter as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” tweeted Maybank.
Maybank also reported that debit card usage is “temporarily unavailable”.
According to DownDetector, users started reporting that Maybank2u.com went down at around 9am today. Logging into my Maybank account at 12.20pm today, I was shocked to find out that it said that I had literally no money at all in my account. Maybank also says in the app that further information in both my MAE and saver account is “not available”.
I’ve been able to log in to their web service and am able to see that I, in fact, do still have my money. However, some information, like how much I have in my MAE account, is missing. A few Twitter users also report that they were surprised to see that their bank balance was RM0.
We don’t know when Maybank’s online services will be up and running smoothly again. But they will likely release another statement on Twitter for when they do fix it.
