Nintendo tried to hide a porn GIF on Twitter, but everyone can see it anyway

This all started with just an innocent promotional tweet by Nintendo Europe, advertising fun bowling-related challenges that would be in the upcoming Nintendo Switch Sports game. But, on Twitter, nothing is sacred.

After Nintendo Europe posted the bowling Switch Sports clip on 5 April, a couple of lewd GIFs popped up under the replies section. But they’re not just lewd—they’re lewd bowling-related GIFs. These GIFs, created by Blender artist Wyerframez, are modern renditions of old-school bowling animations that you would be familiar with if you’ve ever been bowling before. Those animations would pop up on the screen at the bowling alley whenever someone would get a strike, spare, split, or miss the pins.

Wyerframez is not unfamiliar with lewd art. A quick scroll through his Twitter account is enough to reveal that he’s created some extremely horny GIFs before—and some of them are Nintendo-based, too… although I should warn you before clicking this link to look at it. You can’t unsee it. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Enjoy.

The Blender artist posted his first bowling-related porn GIF in November 2021. It’s of a bowling ball… uh… ejaculating all over a set of pins to score a strike. And during our recent April Fools Day, Wyerframez posted another horny bowling GIF—that’s way more graphic than the first. The newer bowling animation now has 85.1K likes on Twitter.

So, when Nintendo posted a bowling clip 4 days after Wyerframez’ Twitter post, it’s not surprising that its replies included the GIFs. As a reaction, Nintendo tried to hide one of them under ‘Hidden Replies‘—but it completely backfired.

It’s incredibly easy to look at ‘Hidden Replies’ on a Twitter post. There’s a ‘Hidden Replies’ icon on the bottom right of a tweet if an account chooses to hide a reply. And Nintendo hid just one—putting a spotlight on it even more.

Now, there are just a lot of replies of the same two of Wyerframez’ bowling GIFs. There are also replies of Twitter users warning everyone else of what might be lurking under ‘Hidden Replies’.

“Ending up on a Nintendo tweet was the last thing I would have expected, especially considering my…’regular’ content… I’m sure tons of people would be just as shocked (or more) by the stuff I normally produce, but is it’s nowhere near as re-tweetable or relatable. Bowling is super relatable and everyone has that experience of looking up at the screen and being confused as shit,” said Wyerframez.

I don’t know about you, but I will never look at bowling the same way again.
