OPPO Reno7 Series is always known for its camera capabilities in taking great photos and videos. The OPPO Reno7 Series is no exception, thanks to its dual-flagship camera sensors with the ability to take DSLR-like photos—as well as its other camera features. But what you might not know is that it’s not just a “camera” phone, it’s also an all-rounded phone with some other great features that make it a worthy contender to its other mid-high range competitors.
It’s not a secret that one of the OPPO Reno7 Series 5G most exciting features is its ability to take professional-looking portraits. Specifically, for the Reno7 Pro 5G, thanks to the device’s Dual Flagship Sony sensors, it elevates the portrait photography experience.
The OPPO Reno7 Pro features the new Sony IMX709 sensor at its 32MP front camera. The flagship-class sensor is the world’s first released high-light sensor lens by Sony and OPPO and specialises in low light conditions.
The Reno7 Pro 5G also features Portrait Mode as well as Bokeh Flare Portrait Video. Portrait Mode gives you an adjustable bokeh effect with a nice blurred background. 25 levels of apertures ranging from f0.95 until f16, allowing you to adjust the intensity of the bokeh the way you prefer—it’s available for both photos and videos, too. And these features are also available on Reno7 5G.
Of course, the series doesn’t just deliver great camera capabilities. They also have plenty of other features that come with the OPPO Reno7 Series.
Surprisingly handy with work essentials
Dealing with work almost 24.7, display plays an essential part in our daily lives. The Reno7 Pro has a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and 180 Hz touch sampling rate for a more vivid and smoother viewing experience. It is also SGS Eye Care Display Certified—which is meant to prevent eye-strain by reducing bluelight.
And while a handful of modern phones still aren’t able to support HD streaming, the OPPO Reno7 Series boasts that it is Netflix HD and Amazon Prime Video Certified. So you won’t have a problem streaming high quality content with the device.
ColorOS 12
OPPO’s own highly customised operating system, ColorOS 12, has a number of neat features that can help streamline how you use your phone and focus on the things that matter.
One feature we found useful was PC Connect, a feature that allows your device to work seamlessly with your PC. When in a multi-screen office setup, you can cast your phone screen to a computer and share data between the computer and the phone. You can also work more efficiently by focusing on one screen without having to switch back and forth between devices.
There are also other ColorOS 12 features like Air Gesture—which lets you answer and mute phone calls by gesturing with your hands without touching the phone, and Anti-Peeping for Notifications—which hides notifications if the device senses someone else is looking at the phone.
Additionally, ColorOS 12’S Omoji lets you create your very own custom virtual image and uses an advanced face algorithm to help you express your emotions. You can play with a total of 14 billion different feature combinations. And if that’s not enough, there are also more than 200 personalised, trendy elements and emoticons available.
OPPO Signature’s Fast Charging
As with all newer OPPO smartphones, the Reno 7 Series also gets a 4,500mAh battery which supports 65W SuperVOOC fast charging via USB-C. Charging the device to 100% only takes 31 minutes, as expected of OPPO’s renowned charging tech.
Its large battery capacity and fast charge allow the device to always be on standby. You never really have to worry about low battery situations as it can also last long enough until you reach home.
Decent gaming device, too
OPPO smartphones are generally not known for its gaming capabilities, but the Reno 7 Pro also features an AI Frame Rate Stabiliser. It prevents frame-rate loss and lagging—for your gaming needs. Basically, it helps monitor the system performance and temperature changes in real time and keeps frame rate drops at optimal values. You can find this feature for games like Mobile Legends, PUBG, Subway Surfers, and Genshin Impact.
Its improved performance is also thanks to its X-Axis linear motor—which makes vibrations “shorter and crisper”. For not-so-tech-savvy people, smartphones feature one of two types of vibration motors: rotary motor and linear motor. The former is cost-effective, but it cannot start and stop as quickly as the latter. This feature is available for PUBG and LOL.
Its Quick Startup feature can also keep frequently played games alive in the background, enabling you to jump into a game instantly whenever you want.
RAM expansion up to 7GB
Under the hood, it gets a MediaTek Dimensity 200-MAX flagship-level 5G-integrated SoC. The device is mated to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which is expandable via a microSD card. It also supports WiFi-6—as well as 5G, for when it is available in Malaysia.
OPPO Glow
The most flashy aspect of the OPPO Reno7 Series is OPPO Glow. Coming in Startrails Blue, the device uses industry first-ever Laser Direct Imaging (LDI) to give the rear of the phone a multi-coloured effect. It also comes in Starry Black, which gives the device a balance between the classic black finish and a dark gradient with a subtle glow.
It’s also made with aerospace-grade material for durability. It is fingerprint-resistant and can withstand heavy scratches.
OPPO Reno 7 Series is now available at the OPPO Store. You can purchase the OPPO Reno7 for RM1,999, the OPPO Reno7 Pro for RM2,999, and the OPPO Reno7 Z for RM1,699. You can also get them on online shopping platforms like Shopee and Lazada.
