Apple has officially announced its upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2022 event which is scheduled from 6 to 10th June 2022. This is Apple’s annual developer event and it’s going to be hosted virtually for the third year in a row. As usual, you can expect Apple to reveal the latest innovations for its operating systems including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS.
According to the Cupertino tech giant, Apple has a growing global community of more than 30 million developers who will gain insight and access to the technology and tools to bring their visions into reality. In addition to the usual keynote and State of the Union presentations, participants can expect more information sessions, learning labs and digital lounges to engage with attendees. It added that there will be more localised content to make WWDC22 a truly global event.
Besides the online event, Apple is also hosting a special day for developers and students at Apple Park on 6th June to watch the keynote and State of the Union videos together alongside the online community. Spaces for the on-ground event will be limited and it will be shared on Apple’s Developer site and app soon.
Apple has also announced its Swift Student Challenge which marks its third year this year. Aspiring coders can learn Swift programming language with the Swift Playgrounds app on the iPad and Mac, that’s designed to make learning more interactive and fun. The student challenge is open to all students worldwide and participants are invited to create a Swift Playgrounds app project on a topic of their choice. You can learn more about the submission here.
Winners will receive exclusive WWDC22 outerwear, a customised pin set and one-year membership of Apple’s Developer Program which costs USD 99 (about RM417). Submissions are open from 5th April until 24th April 2022.
