The realme 9 Pro 5G series are midrange powerhouses thanks to their 6nm processors

This post was brought to you by realme.

Last month, realme had launched their latest midrange smartphones, the realme 9 Pro 5G and realme 9 Pro+ 5G. Despite their midrange labels though, they pack some pretty hefty performance, thanks to both devices coming with the latest 6nm processors.

Starting with the realme 9 Pro 5G it packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 system-on-chip, the latest and greatest in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 series of silicon. Meanwhile, the realme 9 Pro+ 5G goes a step further still with the MediaTek Dimensity 920. Both of these are built on the 6nm process and offer features that before this could only be found on expensive flagship devices.

For instance, both chips allow for smooth and speedy high refresh rates, and it shows. The realme 9 Pro 5G has a 6.6-inch, FHD+ IPS display capable of pushing out up to a 120Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the realme 9 Pro+ 5G has a 6.4-inch, FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz high refresh rate. The latter also comes with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 over it too for scratch resistance. It might be hard to visualise how good a high refresh rate display on your smartphone is, but when compared to a typical 60Hz panel they make your smartphone feel more responsive and reduce the motion blur associated with older displays.

The realme 9 Pro+ 5G features some of the best cameras we’ve seen in its segment, thanks to its 50MP main camera with a flagship-tier Sony IMX766 sensor underneath. The large 1/1.56-inch sensor lets you pick up up to 63.8% more light than rival cameras and with the onboard optical image stabilisation, you’ll be able to get some incredible shots with ease. But one thing you might not realise is that it’s also thanks to the powerful Dimensity 920 under the hood allowing for these capabilities too, as the chip brings with it hardware-accelerated 4K HDR video capture, flagship-grade noise reduction and increased detail in shots compared to previous generation Dimensity chips.

Another notable boost that the MediaTek Dimensity 920 has compared to others is its incredible gaming performance, thanks to its Arm Mali-G68 GPU. Compared to its predecessors, the Dimensity 920 offers up to 9% faster gaming performance. MediaTek has also optimised it for power-efficiency, so that mobile gamers will be able to stay in the game longer than before. This means that you’ll be able to play any game with confidence on your realme 9 Pro+ 5G.

Perhaps the most important part of switching to a new smartphone though is the confidence in knowing that you won’t need to change to a new device anytime soon. As such, getting a device with 5G capabilities may be one of your main factors in choosing your next smartphone. You’ll be pleased to know though that the realme 9 Pro 5G series does in fact support 5G, and so you’ll be set to go with Malaysia currently rolling out our 5G network. Furthermore, the realme 9 Pro+ 5G is also able to support the latest wireless protocols, namely WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

If you’re interested in the realme 9 Pro 5G series, here’s how much they will cost you:
