Xiaomi has taken to social media to tease fans about an upcoming Redmi Note device. Dubbed the “ultimate” Redmi Note, it will make its global debut on the 29th of March 2022 at 8pm Malaysian time. Moreover, the company is also claiming this Redmi Note will be the most powerful version.

Though the teaser is light on details, the device in question is believed to be the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G which made its debut in China in late October 2021. This is the flagship variant of the Redmi Note 11 series, which fits Xiaomi’s “ultimate” Redmi Note 11 claim. However, the name and specification will differ between the Chinese market and global markets.

For example, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G is known as the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge in India. Therefore, we can’t say for sure what the phone will be called in Malaysia and how it will be specified. That said, here is what we can expect at the very least based on the Chinese market model.

In terms of design, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G will look like the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, which means it will have a flat frame, reminiscent of recent iPhones. On the front, expect a 6.67” FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device will be a MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G chip paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

Photography is handled by a main 108MP camera using a Samsung HM2 sensor. Additionally, there are also an 8MP ultrawide camera and 2MP telemacro lens. Handling selfie duties is a 16MP camera, housed in a relatively small punch hole cutout upfront.

Some notable features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers. There are also the latest radio protocols like Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC. The standout feature for this midrange phone might be the 120W fast charging support. Xiaomi claims the 4,500mAh, dual-cell battery can be fully charged in just around 15 minutes. Finally, we can expect the Redmi 11 Pro+ 5G to run MIUI 13 out of the box and it’s likely to be based on Android 11 like other models in the series.

Right now, you can purchase the other variants of the Redmi Note 11 series here in Malaysia. These include the Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11S, Redmi Note 11 Pro, and Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. Prices start from RM749 and max out at RM1,299. If you’re interested to know more about these devices, you can check out our coverage here.
