Setel has announced a partnership with Grab which will allow users to top-up their Setel eWallet using GrabPay. This is the second eWallet to be added to Setel’s top-up method after introducing Boost and a cash option. On top of that, users can enjoy double dipping of rewards as they can earn both GrabRewards points as well as Petronas’ Mesra points for fuel purchases.
Top-up Setel with GrabPay
To top up your Setel eWallet via Grab, just launch the Setel app, click on More and then go to Payment methods. On the Setel eWallet section, tap on top-up and then enter your top-up amount and select GrabPay.
You will be required to login to your GrabPay account by entering your mobile number and verifying using the 6-digit pin that’s sent to your registered mobile number.
From here, you can choose to pay using your GrabPay Wallet balance or use your accumulated GrabRewards points. RM10 off requires 1,650 points, RM20 off requires 3,300 points and RM100 off requires 16,500 points.
Earn both GrabRewards points and Mesra points
For every RM1 you top-up using GrabPay, you can earn up to 3 GrabReward points if you’re a Platinum Grab member. Grab rewards 2.25 points for every RM spent on Gold level and 1.5 points for Silver and Member levels.
Setel users can earn 1 Mesra point for every litre of fuel purchase. However, if you’re a regular Setel user, you can earn extra 0.5 bonus Mesra points on Junior, 1 Bonus point on Explorer and 2 Bonus points on Hero level. Every RM1 spent at Kedai Mesra using Setel will grant you 1 Mesra point.
Promo for first-time users
If you’re new to Setel, you can get RM9 off Setel credit when you sign up with the promo-code c-grab9. For each minimum top-up transaction of RM30, you’ll enjoy RM3 credit, up to a maximum of 3 times. Meanwhile, new GrabPay users can enjoy up to RM12 rebate with its current 20% off for the first online transaction promo. That means if you top up RM60 or more, you’ll get an RM12 rebate on GrabPay.
