After introducing their mid-range Redmi Note 11 and flagship Xiaomi 12 series, Xiaomi Malaysia has just introduced the Redmi 10C, its new large-screen budget smartphone. While it is cheaper than the Redmi 10, the 10C runs on the same processor as the Redmi Note 11 which is quite impressive for its segment.

Redmi 10C Malaysia Pricing and Availability

The Redmi 10C in Malaysia is officially priced as follows:

  • Redmi 10C 4GB RAM + 64GB storage – RM559
  • Redmi 10C 4GB RAM + 128GB storage – RM629

If you’re interested, the Redmi 10C will go on sale starting this Saturday, 19th March on both Lazada and Shopee. It is also available at all authorised Xiaomi stores throughout Malaysia. The Redmi 10C is offered in three colours – Graphite Grey, Ocean Blue and Mint Green.

Redmi 10C Specs

The Redmi 10C features a large 6.71″ DotDrop display which pushes an HD+ resolution of 1650×720 pixels and it supports Netflix HD and Amazon Prime HD video streaming playback in HD. For screen durability, it also gets Corning Gorilla Glass for the front.

Under the hood, it runs on a 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor that’s paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. If you need more storage, it supports microSD card expansion up to 1TB.

While the massive camera bump seems to tease a quad-camera bump, don’t be fooled. The Redmi 10C actually gets a dual-camera setup featuring a 50MP f/1.8 main camera and a 2MP depth camera for bokeh effects. As shown above, the bump also gets a prominent “Redmi” branding and it also houses the rear fingerprint scanner on the bottom right corner.

In terms of connectivity, this is a dual-SIM device that supports 4G LTE. It also supports 802.11ac WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and it still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s only a single speaker which Xiaomi claims to provide 40% higher volume than the previous generation model.

Overall, the Redmi 10C is an interesting budget offering but the major downside is the display which does HD+ resolution. If you’re looking for a phone with a better Full HD AMOLED screen and versatile cameras, you can consider topping up slightly and go for the Redmi Note 11 which is priced from RM749 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model.
