If you’ve been looking for a massive television as the centerpiece of your living room or man cave, a new alternative has just arrived in Malaysia. The Prism+ Q86 PRO QE, an 86-inch television with Android TV from Singaporean brand Prism+, is now available here with a special introductory price too.
Prism+ Q86 PRO QE pricing and availability
The Prism+ Q86 PRO QE is priced at RM8,999 normally, but from now till the 10th of February it’s priced slightly less at RM8,899 as part of a special launch promotion. It’s available on the Prism+ website, as well as on their official Lazada store and their official Shopee store too. In comparison to other TVs in this category, it’s certainly a fair bit cheaper, with Prism+ themselves saying that they’re pricing it up to 20% less than their rivals. The similarly sized LG UP80 for instance can be found for RM9,927 online at time of writing.
Furthermore, from now till the 9th of February, there’s a CNY sale too on the Prism+ website, meaning that you can get a further RM88 off if you get the Prism+ Q86 PRO QE and checkout with Atome as your payment method. This also snags you additional freebies worth up to RM1,122, such as free 3 years of Viu, 3 months of WeTV and 3 months of MeWatch on top of a two year warranty and free delivery and assembly.
Prism+ Q86 PRO QE specs
Right off the bat, it’s hard to not notice just how big it is. Sporting an 86-inch ‘Quantum IPS’ display, the Prism+ Q86 PRO QE comes with a 4K display with Dolby Vision and HDR10 certification. Prism+ claims that the television is capable of a brightness up to 490nits and can produce 1.07 billion colours too. In the audio department, the two 10W speakers feature Dolby Atmos and DTS TruSurround. Furthermore, you’ll be able to use your voice to control the television in case you’ve lost the remote.
It also runs Android TV 10, with Google Play Store onboard together with Google Assistant and inbuilt Chromecast functionality for you to connect and cast your smartphone screen to it. You’ll get to run most of your favourite content and streaming apps on it too, such as Disney+, Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, HBO GO, VIu and more. The Prism+ Q86 will also be able to run Netflix and YouTube at a native 4K resolution too.
As you can probably tell, it’s certainly not the lightest of televisions. Weighing in at a hefty 43kg, it measures at 1215mm x 435mm x 1921mm with its stand. You’ll also find screw holes for a 600mm x 400mm wall mount on the rear of the Q86 PRO QE.
In terms of I/O there’s two USB 2.0 ports, three HDMI 2.0 ports with HDMI ARC functionality, an Ethernet port as well as AV and RF inputs on top of an SPDIF output. There will be Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 5 connectivity too, along with a remote in the box. It won’t however come with a HDMI cable so you’ll want to ensure you have a spare one lying around.
