You can play Prince of Persia on your Apple Watch. You just need to ask Siri

I’ve never played Prince of Persia before, but now I don’t have an excuse not to. Software Developer Oliver Klemenz made it known on Twitter that you are now able to play the classic 80s platformer on your Apple Watch—and all you really need is to ask Siri to take you to a website.

Klemenz is also the one who ported the game to JavaScript, making it playable on almost any device with a web browser. And even though the Apple Watch hasn’t had a proper browser app available for it (yet), Klemenz mentioned that you can sort of beat the system by sending yourself the link to his site—PrinceJS.com.

Incredible! Prince of Persia runs on @Apple Watch including full @phaser_ engine, playable with touch controls. Just send a mail or message with body https://t.co/YazGHnxyEy to yourself, open link on Apple Watch and play in near original resolution. #PrinceOfPersia #AppleWatch pic.twitter.com/n9dejPnopY

Just send yourself “PrinceJS.com” through your email or through iMessage, which you can access with your Apple Watch. You’ll then be able to press on the link from there and it will take you to the website.

Playing Prince of Persia through the Apple Watch is definitely not as satisfying as it could be with a desktop browser. You can only really tap on the screen (left to go left, right to go right, up to climb up) but I couldn’t figure out how to fight the bad guys. But honestly, I couldn’t figure out how to fight the bad guys on the desktop browser version, either.

And just to take note, this is an old-school platformer—so it can be super janky to play around with. But it’s nice to know what you can actually play something like this on your Apple Watch.

Twitter users also added that you don’t even need to send yourself the link to play the game. You can talk to Siri and say “princejs.com” and she’ll give you a link to press on.

The game isn’t just available for Apple Watch users. Samsung Watch users found that they could also do the same thing. And no, they can’t figure out how to beat the bad guy, either.
