Caught driving like an idiot on dashcam? The police could be knocking at your door soon.

Lately, the traffic investigation and enforcement department (JSPT) has been posting videos of traffic offences to their Facebook page and they’re going viral.

Dashcam videos are no stranger to the Malaysian cyberspace and we see crazy drivers almost every day on social media. Now, the JSPT are actually reviewing these viral videos and are taking action against the traffic offenders in question.

Over the past week, the JSPT Facebook page has posted five of these videos with the title “Segmen # Video Tular”. Each of the videos features footage of the traffic offence with dramatic music added. I don’t know who manages their Facebook page, but they have an interesting job for sure.

One of the videos shows a Toyota Alphard overtaking by just driving in the opposing lane near Simpang Tiga Batu Puteh in Kulim, Kedah.

The most popular video, showing a man parking his Toyota Prius in the middle of a junction, has garnered more than 115,000 views in a week. In every video, the JSPT state that they conduct a preliminary investigation by going to the home address of the car owner. After that, they often just warn and charge the traffic offender in question.

So, the next time you want to park in the middle of a junction, just have some cookies and tea prepared for the traffic police when they question you in your home.

If you want to see more videos, you can head to the JSPT Facebook watch page and even check out their traffic ‘vlogs’ too.

For those of you who still have traffic summons, unfortunately the 80% discount that was once offered has now expired, but you can still pay your summons through the JPJ website.
