Do you still have unpaid police summons issued in Malaysia? You can get up to 80% discounts off them from now until 12 December 2021 through the official JPJ site—but it seems like the site has crashed for now. However, if you’re in a hurry, you can pay them in person… if you don’t mind the possible long lines.
The discounts are in conjunction with “100 Aspiration Days of the Malaysia Family”. It’s a government initiative led by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri’s department involving 31 ministers, 26 ministries, and 5 government agencies to “celebrate 100 days” under the current government.
At the time of writing (11am), the JPJ site seemed to have crashed. I’d advise you to try again in a few hours because I think there might be way too many people right now trying to pay off their summons as well. But if you’re not that rushed, you can pay your summons at the KL Convention Centre, as well as at all State Offices and Urban Transformation Centres (UTC) in Malaysia.
Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Datuk Mat Kasim Karim also said that the discounts “will not cover summons cases in court mentions, the commission of major offences, heavy vehicle offences and exhaust modifications”. So this likely means that smaller and more common things like parking tickets would still be valid for the discount.
Additionally, while only the Federal Territory and Putrajaya get discounts of 80%, other states get 70% discounts. While you might get a lower discount rate, 70% off is still pretty good.
