Earlier this year, AMD announced their Radeon RX6000 range of mobile graphics cards for laptops, and with it came their AMD Advantage branding too. AMD Advantage laptops basically are laptops that follows AMD’s design framework which include things like AMD Ryzen 5000 mobile processors, AMD Radeon RX6000 GPUs and more.

AMD Advantage though brings more than just the latest hardware from Team Red. Kind of like how the Intel Evo program requires manufacturers to follow certain requirements, to sell an AMD Advantage laptop, OEMs need to ensure their laptops also have support for AMD Smart Access Memory and Smart Shift, use at least an NVME PCIe Gen 3 SSD and a display with at least 300 nits.

Following that, MSI have now released three new gaming laptops in Malaysia, two of which come with that AMD Advantage seal of approval.

MSI Alpha 15

The first of MSI’s new gaming laptops is the MSI Alpha 15. There’s going to be just one SKU available though for the new MSI Alpha 15 which comes with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H CPU, 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 512GB PCIe Gen 3 SSD. As for the graphics card, you get an AMD Radeon RX6600M with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Cooling all of that is MSI’s Cooler Boost 5 cooling system, consisting of six heat pipes and two fans to dissipate heat away from the silicon.

It comes with a 15.6-inch, FHD IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Above it, you’ll find a 720p webcam while the keyboard below is RGB backlit. You’ll also find a 4-cell battery and a 180W power brick with the laptop, and it weighs in total a hefty 2.35kg. Meanwhile, for I/O you’ll find a HDMI port, an Ethernet port, two USB-A 3.2 ports, one USB-A 2.0 port, one USB-C 3.2 port and a 3.5mm audio jack. And being an AMD Advantage laptop, it’ll also come with a host of AMD-centric features like AMD Smart Shift and Smart Access Memory.

MSI Delta 15

The MSI Delta 15 is the other of MSI’s new gaming laptops to come with the AMD Advantage seal of approval. It packs either the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H or an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX, but other than that they’re mostly the same laptop. It has 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a 1TB PCIe Gen 3 SSD and the AMD Radeon RX6700M graphics card with 10GB of GDDR6 VRAM too. It’ll also be cooled by the Cooler Blast 5 system with six heat pipes and two fans.

Elsewhere, the MSI Delta 15 has a 15.6-inch FHD, IPS display with a 240Hz refresh rate. There’s a 720p webcam and an RGB backlight keyboard too. The 82Whr battery comes with a 240W power brick, and overall the laptop weighs 1.9kg. As for I/O, you get a HDMI port, two USB-C 3.2 ports with one of them carrying a DisplayPort signal too, two USB-A 3.2 ports and a 3.5mm audio jack. Sleeker and less gamer-y than its Alpha 15 cousin, the Delta 15 still gets all of the AMD Advantage features you can expect.

MSI Bravo 15

Lastly, we have a more entry-level offering from MSI here that’s not an AMD Advantage gaming laptop, but still offers an AMD graphics card within. The Bravo 15 has either the AMD Ryzen 5 5600H or the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H CPU, mated to either 8GB or 16GB of RAM depending on your configuration. The graphics card meanwhile is an older Radeon RX5500M with 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM. You’ll also get a 512GB PCIe Gen 3 SSD and everything’s kept cooled by the MSI Cooler Boost 5’s six heat pipes and two fans.

As for the screen, you’ll get a somewhat lacklustre 15.6-inch FHD, IPS display that’s only 60Hz with a 45% coverage of the NTSC colour gamut. Other features include a 720p webcam, two USB-A 3.2 ports, a USB-A 2.0 port, a USB-C 3.2 port, a HDMI port, an Ethernet port and a 3.5mm audio jack. The battery meanwhile is a 53.5Whr 3-cell battery and comes with a 150W power brick, while the keyboard comes with just a red backlight.

Pricing and availability

All of the laptops introduced above are now available on the MSI online store as well as their official stores on Lazada and Shopee. They are priced as follows:
