After some recent rumours and teasers, Honor posted an official announcement video for the Honor 60 on Weibo, stating that we will be meeting the Honor 60 lineup on December 1st at 7:30PM Malaysian time.
This announcement is quite shocking as it’s only been five months since the Honor 50 was released on June 25th, and one month since it was launched in Malaysia on the 18th of October. They just keep cranking these phones out, huh?
The visuals for the lineup so far have been ‘space’ and ‘night sky’ themed. We’ll have to wait and see what this could mean for the phone, but some possibilities are more ‘space’ with a larger screen-to-body ratio or simply better low-light pictures.
A leaked promo image from Whylab fit the same starry aesthetic and alluded to the Honor 60 having the same dual camera rings just like its predecessor. In the same post, the leaker claims that both the Honor 60 and Honor 60 Pro will support 66W fast charging, and the Honor 60 SE will have 40W charging.
We don’t know much else about the Honor 60 lineup, but it is expected to rival the Oppo Reno 7 lineup that is launching this month.
If you need a reminder on the Honor 50 lineup, it was the first flagship with Google Mobile Services (GMS) to be released internationally after the split from Huawei. It also had a FHD+ OLED display and was powered by a Snapdragon 778G SoC, with the 50 SE being run by a Dimensity 900 SoC. Honor Malaysia also recently launched the Honor 50 Lite. Priced at RM999 and coming with 8GB of RAM, it looks like a Huawei Nova 8i with GMS.
