Sony Xperia Pro-I Specs

The Sony Xperia Pro-I comes with a 6.5″ 4K HDR OLED display that pushes a high 120Hz refresh rate. Despite being announced in the second half of the year, it still runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor paired with 12GB of RAM. On board, it gets a generous 512GB storage which can be expanded further by popping a microSD card up to 1TB.

The biggest highlight is its camera which is one of the largest sensors ever fitted on a smartphone and it uses ZEISS Tessar Optics. It gets a 12MP main camera that boasts a larger 2.4-micron pixel and has a variable aperture that switches between f/2.0 and f/4.0. It also comes with a 12MP telephoto camera offering 2x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Both the main and telephoto cameras have optical image stabilisation. For selfies, the device settles for an 8MP front camera which supports 5-axis Electronic Image Stabilisation.

The camera has 315 phase-detection AF points as well as Real-time Eye-AF which works for both humans and animals. It also supports 20fps AF/AE burst shooting and an anti-distortion shutter feature that’s useful in capturing fast-moving objects. Sony also claims that the Xperia Pro-I is the world’s first smartphone to capture high-quality 4K videos in 120fps.

Targetting creators, the device offers a host of Photography Pro and Cinematography Pro features which are derived from its professional video camera lineup. As you would expect from a premium Sony Xperia device, there’s still a dedicated button for the camera shutter.

For vloggers, Xperia Pro-I users can add a secondary screen with the optional vlogging monitor and you can pair it with the Bluetooth shooting grip which allows you to have easy access to the camera controls while recording with a single hand.

The device still has stereo speakers and stereo microphones, and it still retains the 3.5mm headphone jack. For better durability, it supports IP68 dust and water resistance, while the front display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Powering the device is a respectable 4,500mAh battery that supports USB-PD fast charging via USB-C. You can learn more about the device in our announcement post.
