Remember the gaming furniture Ikea teased not too long ago? The one that they’ve partnered up with Asus’ Republic of Gamers (ROG) for? Ikea Malaysia finally posted their entire collection, including their own ring light for RM159.
The Ikea x ROG gaming range mostly consists of the furniture you expect like gaming desks and gaming chairs. The FREDDE gaming desk, which you can purchase on Ikea’s site now, costs RM999. It has a contoured table top, cup-holders, high side panels, built-in cable management, and it can even fit a 32″ computer monitor or TV if you remove the shelf above the tabletop.
But as I mentioned earlier, it also includes more out-there additions besides the ring light—like a mouse bungee. The LÅNESPELARE mouse bungee, which costs RM49, keeps your mouse cord in order and prevents it from getting tangled—making your wired mouse “feel” like a wireless mouse. It’s not a new concept, but it’s one of the weirdest items in the collection.
But if you’re looking for even more weird items in the Ikea x ROG collection, a pretty strange one is this accessory stand that looks like a hand. It costs RM99 and you can use it to hold your headphones and cables, in case you’re into that sort of thing. Heck, it’ll also be free to give you high fives whenever you need it after your hard-earned gaming wins.
But one of the most notable items in the Ikea collection is the LÅNESPELARE ring light which also comes with a phone holder. Usually, you can get fairly cheaper ring lights on online shopping platforms for half the price—or even cheaper. The Ikea ring light can also be adjusted from warm to cold and dimmed to “the desired intensity”, but it isn’t able to change to different colours.
Other items you can get in the same collection include mug holders, a neck pillow, a glass door cabinet, and a CPU stand amongst others. You can check out their collection here, but most of them aren’t available to get online yet besides the FREDDE gaming desks.
What are your favourite items from the collection, and would you be spending RM159 for an official Ikea ring light? It’s a bit pricey if you compare it to the ring lights you can get online, but for some people, it might be more convenient to get your streaming equipment at an Ikea.
