Poco M4 Pro 5G officially confirmed, will launch on 6 Nov

The Poco M3 Pro 5G was a very good smartphone, offering some incredible value-for-money hardware with a fairly low price. It even made our list of the best smartphones under RM1,000 you can buy this year. However, from the looks of things, we may have to update that article soon as Poco have officially announced that they’ll be launching the Poco M4 Pro 5G early next month.

That’s pretty much all they’ve said though, without much else in terms of specs or price. However, there’s been a fair bit of leaks prior to this already, with one Geekbench result alleged belonging to the upcoming device. According to said result, the Poco M4 Pro 5G will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 810 system-on-chip, and was mated to 8GB of RAM.

However, previous leaks from the US FCC indicate that it’ll come in a 4GB RAM configuration too, while another TENAA listing claimed a possible 6GB and 12GB of RAM too, while storage may go up to 512GB. However, it should be noted that the TENAA listing was for the Redmi Note 11 in China, which is believed will be the Poco M4 Pro 5G for the global market. Other rumoured specs include a 6.6-inch display, a 4,900mAh battery and 33W fast charging.

That being said, we’ll only truly know once the launch event happens on the 9th of November. In the meantime, if you’re looking to buy a new budget smartphone, it would be wise to wait till then to have another option on your list.
