In September, I’ve reported that Apple Fitness+ is coming to Malaysia “later this year”, but the date was unconfirmed. Now, Apple announced that the official date for the launch would be 4 November 2021—and it will also be included in the Apple One Premier Plan, which wasn’t previously available here.

“We created Fitness+ so everyone would have a place they feel inspired and motivated, no matter where they are on their fitness journey. We are so excited to be available to millions more people as we bring Fitness+ to 15 new countries next week, and can’t wait for them to meet our welcoming trainer team,” said Jay Blahnik, Apple’s vice president of Fitness Technologies.

Apple Fitness+ is “the first fitness service built entirely around Apple Watch”. The subscription service helps you work out through videos and audio specially made for the service, but it will also help sync and track work out through your Apple Watch in real-time. The service offers classes for HIIT, Strength, Yoga, Walking, Meditation, and others.

Apple Fitness+ is currently only available in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the U.K., and the U.S. But starting 4 November, Apple will be adding 15 new countries to the list. Besides Malaysia, they include Austria, Brazil, Colombia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates.

Besides the date, Apple also announced that the Fitness+ classes and features—which will be available in English—will have subtitle options in Brazilian Portuguese, English, French, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish. And starting today, Fitness+ is finally making SharePlay a feature that users can enjoy. SharePlay, which lets users can work out with up to 32 people at once through FaceTime, was only previously announced as an upcoming perk for Fitness+ users.

Apple Fitness+ is available as a standalone subscription for RM19.90 per month or RM119.90 per year. The service can be shared among up to six family members for the same price, but it requires an Apple Watch Series 3 or later with watchOS 7.2, and is available when paired with iPhone 6s or later with iOS 14.3.

The service is also included in the Apple One Premier plan from RM69.90 per month and can be shared amongst six family members. The Premier plan gives customers access to Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and iCloud+ with 2TB of storage, and will also be available starting 4 November.

And starting 15 September 2021, customers who purchase an Apple Watch Series 3 or later will be able to start with three months of Apple Fitness+ free. The offer can be redeemed on your iPhone, and you’ll have three months to redeem the offer after the first activation of the eligible device.
