Honor smartphones are finally back with the arrival of the Honor 50 in Malaysia which now comes with Google Mobile Services. This is their latest flagship-class device to launch in Malaysia after its separation from Huawei. According to Honor, Malaysia is the first country outside of China to get the new Honor 50 series.

Here’s the official pricing for the Honor 50 in Malaysia:
- 6GB RAM + 128GB – RM1,699
- 8GB RAM + 256GB – RM1,999
The Honor 50 256GB model comes in 3 colours – Frost Crystal, Emerald Green and Midnight Black, while the 128GB version comes in two options – Honor Code and Midnight Black. The device is available for pre-order on various eCommerce platforms including Lazada and Shopee. Stocks will be available nationwide on 25th October 2021.
As part of its pre-order promo, you can get freebies worth up to RM550. The Honor 50 256GB is bundled with Honor Earbuds 2 Lite, an Honor 50 hand strap case and 1+1 year extended warranty. Meanwhile, the 128GB model comes with an Honor 50 hand strap case and 1+1 year extended warranty.
Honor 50 Hardware Spec
The Honor 50 comes with a 6.57″ dual-curved Full HD+ OLED display that offers a high 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on a 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor that’s mated with up to 8GB of RAM and has up to 256GB of non-expandable storage.
Despite having a humongous “dual-camera” bump, the Honor 50 actually comes with a quad-camera setup. This includes a high-resolution 108MP f/1.9 main camera with a 1/1.52″ sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and two 2MP shooters for depth and bokeh effects. Upfront, the display has a tiny punch-hole which houses a 32MP front camera.
Powering the device is a 4,300mAh battery and it supports 66W SuperCharge via USB-C. The fast charger can push a 70% charge in just 20 minutes while a full charge takes 45 minutes. In terms of connectivity, it supports 5G, WiFi 6 and NFC. There’s no headphone jack and unfortunately, it comes with mono speakers.
