Samsung is having a Galaxy Unpacked event on 20th October, are they launching the Galaxy S21 FE?

Next week is gonna be a busy week. Shortly after Apple’s upcoming Unleashed event, Samsung is having its Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 that’s taking place on 20th October. They have posted a teaser video that shows off colourful cubes with random icons of its One UI interface.

The invite reads “Join Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 on October 20 to see how Samsung is opening up new experiences for self-expression through technology. The event will be streamed on Samsung’s YouTube channel beginning at 10 a.m. ET.”

It isn’t clear if Samsung is launching a new Galaxy product or if it is just an event to release One UI 4.0 based on Android 12. Last month, the Korean smartphone maker had opened up its Beta programme for Galaxy S21 users.

Based on the colourful theme, Samsung could be launching its new Galaxy S21 Fan Edition (FE) but there were reports that Samsung had cancelled the device due to the chip shortage issue. Another speculation claimed that the Galaxy S21 FE is still in the works but the launch would take place only in January 2022.

The folks at Sammobile believes that Samsung could also announce the Galaxy Tab S8. This is also possible since the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ were launched in August 2020 alongside the Galaxy Note 20 series. The new Tab S8 is expected to run on a Snapdragon 888 chip and feature a 120Hz OLED display.

All shall be revealed next week and you can tune in at 10pm Malaysian time on Wednesday 20th October. You can follow the live stream on the official Samsung YouTube channel.
