Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 now available in Malaysia with free water-resistant case

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is now officially available in Malaysia. This is Samsung’s latest wireless earbuds that offer active noise cancellation (ANC) for less than RM500. It was launched alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip3 and the Galaxy Watch 4 series.

Pricing and availability

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is officially priced at RM499 in Malaysia. It comes in 4 colours – Lavender, Graphite, Olive and White. You can get it starting 22nd September at all authorised Samsung outlets as well as their online store. You can also buy it online via eCommerce platforms such as Lazada.

As part of its introductory offer, Galaxy Buds 2 buyers can get a free Galaxy Buds Water Resistance Cover worth RM99. The free cover is offered from now until 31st October 2021, and while stocks last.

According to the product page, the water and dust resistant case cover is also compatible with the Galaxy Buds Pro and the Galaxy Buds Live. With your wireless earbuds stored, Samsung says the cover will provide an IP67 barrier which means that it could survive being submerged in up to 1 metre of freshwater for up to 30 minutes. Also included is a carabiner that lets you hook the case to your backpack or your belt loop.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 specs

The Galaxy Buds 2 is Samsung’s smallest and lightest wireless earbuds yet, and it costs RM300 cheaper than the Galaxy Buds Pro at the time of launch. While the design looks similar to the Pro model, the Buds 2 features a woofer and tweeter, and weighs 5g for each side. Also included are two outer beamforming mics and an inner mic and voice pickup unit for better hands-free voice calls.

On a single charge, Samsung claims that you can get up to 5 hours of music playback with ANC turned on and you can get up to a total of 20 hours with the charging case included. Without ANC, it can push up to 7 hours of continuous music playback or up to 29 hours with the charging case. The Galaxy Buds 2 can withstand minor splashes with its IPX2 water resistance rating and it also supports both USB-C wired as well as wireless charging.
