Along with the new iPhone 13 series and the Apple Watch Series 7, Apple also introduced an upgrade to the MagSafe wallet. With iOS 15, the new iPhone Leather Wallet with MagSafe will have Find My support, enabling you to locate the wallet if you happen to lose it.
This wallet is compatible with the iPhone 12 onwards and is advertised to be able to hold up to three cards at once.
To be clear, this functionality is not exactly the same as the AirTags. The wallet will not offer real-time tracking with the Find My app. You can only get the wallet’s last known location if it gets separated from your phone, so if someone steals your wallet, this feature might not be very useful. Apple also specifies that Find My does not work if you’re using a Clear Case.
The way we think this works is that the iPhone is assigning and logging the GPS location of the wallet whenever it gets disconnected from your case. We are not sure why it doesn’t work with the Clear Case, but it probably has to do with data being unable to transfer through the material.
The MagSafe wallet comes in five colours: Golden Brown, Dark Cherry, Sequoia Green, Midnight, and Wisteria.
You can get the iPhone Leather Wallet with MagSafe now for RM269 on the Apple website. This is the same price as the older version.
