COVID-19 vaccination: Walk-in available in the Klang Valley until 30 Sept, Negeri Sembilan from 20-25 Sept

If you’re a Malaysian residing in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor who have yet to get vaccinated against COVID-19, here are some good news. Walk-in vaccinations are now extended until the end of September. Walk-ins were previously scheduled to end on 15th September after more than 100% of registered adults in the Klang Valley have been fully vaccinated. Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan folks who are still waiting for their vaccine appointment can soon walk in to get their jab starting next week.

Klang Valley

The walk-in vaccinations in the Klang Valley will be limited to just 5 vaccination centres (PPV) and they will be open until 30th September 2021. This includes Bangi Avenue Convention Centre (BACC), Universiti Multimedia (MMU) Cyberjaya, Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil, UniKL British BMI Gombak and Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) Shah Alam.

Meanwhile, individuals in Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor who have gotten their first vaccine dose at PPVs which are no longer operational, may walk-in to get their second jab at clinics listed above. The walk-in vaccination is only for Malaysians only. For non-Malaysians, you’ll have to get an appointment and you can register via MySejahtera, vaksincovid.gov.my or call in at 1-800-888-828.

Negeri Sembilan

In Negeri Sembilan, walk-in vaccinations will be available for six days between 20th to 25th September 2021 in Seremban, Tampin, Port Dickson, Jelebu, Rembau, Kuala Pilah and Jempol. The walk-in programme is open to Malaysians residing in Negeri Sembilan who have not received an appointment. It is also open for Malaysians who have not registered for the COVID-19 vaccination.

As of 15th September, Malaysia has fully vaccinated over 17.8 million people or 54.6% of the total population. The Klang Valley, Labuan and Negeri Sembilan have already fully vaccinated over 90% of its total adult population.

According to the COVIDNow dashboard, 80% of Malaysia’s adult population is expected to be fully vaccinated by 21st September. It is also estimated that 80% of the country’s total population will be fully vaccinated by 3rd December.

The current vaccination rate has started to slow down with less than 300,000 doses administered daily since 10th September. The government has started vaccinating teens aged between 12 to 17 years old and it aims to vaccinate 80% of teens before the next school year.
