Xiaomi 11T flagship series: 120Hz AMOLED display, 108MP camera and 120W fast charging

Ever since 2019’s Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro, we’ve come to expect a T-series variant of Xiaomi’s flagship phone in the second half of the year, and this time is no different. Having dropped the ‘Mi’ moniker, it’s now just called the Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro, and they’ve just officially launched it globally.

As is normally the case with the Xiaomi T lineup, both the Xiaomi 11T And Xiaomi 11T Pro look quite similar at first glance. Both have a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screens also feature a 480Hz touch sampling rate and have HDR10+. TrueColor and True Display to deliver over a billion colours with a peak brightness of 1000nits to your eyes. You’ll find Dolby Vision and a DisplayMate A+ rating on the Xiaomi 11T Pro too. For protection, both phones get a coat of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus over the screen for scratch protection.

On the rear of the phone, you’ll find a triple-camera setup spearheaded by a massive 108MP main camera with a f/1.75 aperture. That gets flanked by an 8MP ultrawide angle lens and a 5MP telemacro lens. The front of the phone meanwhile has a punch hole front camera at the top, housing a 16MP selfie camera with a f/2.45 aperture. Xiaomi is claiming computational filmography capabilities via a one-click AI Cinema mode that delivers up to 8K footage with HDR10+.

The real difference between the base model and the Pro variant is under the hood. Xiaomi has put a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 system-on-chip in the Xiaomi 11T, but bumps it up to the higher end Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC on the 11T Pro. The Xiaomi 11T gets 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage, and the 11T Pro gets those options too along with an additional 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration.

Other features of note include a 5,000mAh battery, but only the Xiaomi 11T Pro gets the 120W Xiaomi HyperCharge fast charging feature. The 11T meanwhile has to content with a lower but still capable 67W fast charging. What is nice to see though is Xiaomi providing the 120W and 67W charging bricks in the box.

There’s also no under-display fingerprint scanner here on neither of the phones though; Xiaomi has instead preferred to put a physical fingerprint scanner on the power button itself. You’ll find stereo speakers, an IR blaster, and support for 5G, NFC, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 too. Both devices come in Meteorite Gray, Moonlight White or Celestial Blue.

Pricing and availability

So far, there’s no word just yet on the local pricing on the Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro. However, we do know their European prices, though we’d take it with a pinch of salt for now as they tend to be priced higher than what we would pay for it here.
