GT Master Edition: Realme Malaysia’s new flagship killer priced from under RM1,500

Realme Malaysia has officially introduced its GT Master Edition and they are calling their a flagship killer. This is an upper-midrange 5G device that features a fluid 120Hz Super AMOLED display and it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G SoC. As an introductory offer, you can get a Sound Bar for free when you purchase the higher storage variant.

Pricing and availability

The Realme GT Master Edition is offered in two storage versions in Malaysia. Below is the official pricing:

  • Realme GT Master Edition 128GB – RM1,499
  • Realme GT Master Edition 256GB – RM1,699

Both models will be available during the upcoming 9.9 sale on Lazada.

The 128GB version can be yours for RM1,399 (save RM100) during the first-day sale on 9.9 that’s happening exclusively online. For the 256GB version, it is still going for RM1,699 on 9.9 and Realme Malaysia is bundling a free sound bar worth RM129 while stocks last. The 256GB model will also be available at all authorised outlets.

The device comes in two distinct exteriors – Voyager Grey and Daybreak Blue. The Voyager Grey gets a vegan leather back design which has a pattern inspired by a travel suitcase. Meanwhile, Daybreak Blue gets a smooth glossy design that reflects holographic colours at different angles.

Hardware Specs

The Realme GT Master Edition features a 6.43″ Super AMOLED display from Samsung that pushes a Full HD+ resolution. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz touch sampling rate for a quicker response for gaming. Under the hood, it runs on a 6nm Snapdragon 778G processor mated with 8GB of RAM and with either 128GB or 256GB of storage.

The device gets a triple-camera setup at the rear that consists of a 64MP f/1.8 main camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, it has a 32MP front camera that sits on a punch-hole in the top left corner of the screen.

In terms of connectivity, it supports 802.11ax WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC. It doesn’t have stereo speakers but it still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. Powering the device is a 4,300mAh dual-cell design battery and it supports 65W fast charging via USB-C. Realme claims that you can get a 100% charge in just 33 minutes. Out of the box, it runs on Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 skin on top.

For the price, the GT Master Edition is going head to head with the Poco F3 which is priced from RM1,399. The F3 has a slightly larger 6.67″ 120Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 870 processor with 5G and a larger 4,520mAh battery. It doesn’t come with a headphone jack but it does offer stereo speakers.
