In the latest episode of COVID-19 vaccine Malaysia update, we cover several major updates including Pfizer vaccines granted full US FDA approval and extension of the walk-in vaccination programme for Malaysian citizens in the Klang Valley.
Since over 85% of adults in the Klang Valley have gotten two doses, several vaccination centres (PPV) have been shut down including Mega PPVs such as Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre, MINES and MITEC. Walk-in vaccinations for non-Malaysians at Stadium National Bukit Jalil have stopped since 23rd August 2021. Non-Malaysians can still get vaccinated on an appointment basis and this can be applied via MySejahtera, vaksincovid.gov.my or call in at 1-800-888-828.
Malaysia has also received its first batch of single-shot Cansino Bio vaccines which can help to speed up the national immunisation programme. These vaccines will be deployed at hard to reach places where it is a challenge to arrange for the second dose. A person that has gotten a single-shot vaccine will be considered fully vaccinated 28 days after getting the injection.
