Garmin has announced its Merdeka sale which will feature discounts on selected wearable series until August 31. The promotion is valid for both in-store and online purchases. Here’s the list of deals:
The Fenix 6 has a 1.3-inch display with a resolution of 260 x 260 pixels. On a single charge, it can last up to 14 days in smartwatch mode and up to 36 hours for GPS usage. Meanwhile, the Fenix 6S has a smaller 1.2-inch 240 x 240 resolution display and has a rated battery life of up to 9 days for smartwatch usage and up to 25 hours for GPS.
The 1.3-inch Fenix 6 Pro Solar gets a solar charging lens that can help to extend battery life. On paper, it offers up to 14 days for smartwatch usage with up to an additional 2 days via solar charging. It has a rated GPS usage up to 36 hours and you can get an additional 4-hour boost with solar.
The Fenix 6X sports a larger 1.4-inch 280×280 pixels display, and has a rated battery life of up to 21 days in smartwatch mode on a single charge. For GPS usage, it can last up to a staggering 60 hours.

If you’re looking for something more affordable, Garmin is also offering discounts for its Instinct Solar range. It features a two-window monochrome display and has a rugged exterior that’s built to US MIL-STD 810 standards. It also supports solar charging as the name suggests. As a smartwatch, it can last up to 24 days on a single charge and Garmin claims that you can stretch it for another 30 days if it is charged via solar 3 hours per day with certain conditions. In terms of GPS usage, it can last up to 30 hours and you could gain up to 8 hours extra through solar charging.
The Instinct Solar Tactical variant features the same specs as the Instinct Solar with two additional tactical features – stealth mode and night vision mode. Stealth mode cuts off all GPS positioning and wireless connectivity while Night Vision will adjust the screen brightness so that it is visible with night vision goggles on.
The Forerunner 245 series features a 1.2-inch display with 240 x 240 pixels. It offers additional running features including vertical oscillation, ground contact time, stride length and can evaluate your performance condition. The standard Forerunner 245 can last up to 7 days in smartwatch mode and it offers up to 24 hours of GPS usage. The Music edition has the same battery life as well but using GPS and music simultaneously will drop the maximum battery life down to just 6 hours.
The Venu Sq series has a 1.3-inch screen with 240x 240 pixels and offers an always-on mode for its screen. Both Sq models can last up to 6 days or up to 14 hours of GPS usage. For the music model, GPS mode with Music offers up to 6 hours of usage in a single charge.
All watches from the Fenix 6, Forerunner 245, Venu Sq and the Instinct Solar series feature Pulse Ox sensors, which are used to calculate a user’s blood oxygen rate saturation.
