Malaysian Fakhirah Khairuddin, a former student at Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) Kota Putra (Ulul Albab), has landed a job at Telsa. She is currently a Technical Training Robotics Engineer instructor based in Fremont, California, USA.
The electric car maker with advanced autonomous driving features is ranked the #1 most attractive company to work for by US engineering students. Getting a job at one of the most sought-after companies is no easy feat and Fakhirah has an impressive resume to back her credentials.
After completing her studies at MRSM, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, San Diego in 2019. She completed her Masters in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the same university in 2021.
Before joining Tesla, Fakhirah has worked as a Propulsion Development Engineer at her university and written Matlab codes to study heat conduction of a rocket engine. In 2019, her project “CopyPasta” won first prize for the Northrop Grumman System Engineering Challenge. As a Master’s student, she also worked on a bat-inspired monocoque gripper on a hexacopter that could hang upside down.
According to her Linkedin profile, she specialises in Computer Aided Design (CAD), Finite Element Modelling and Analysis, Electro-mechanical systems design and Material Selection for Engineering Applications. She’s fully proficient in Solidworks, Ansys Workbench and Abaqus, Matlab, NI Labview and Python.
As a Technical Training Instructor at Tesla, Fakhirah teaches FANUC and Kuka robots to engineers and technicians.
