Malaysia has recorded 14,516 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 1,027,954. There are 207 new deaths reported today which is a new record high and the death toll is now 8,201. There are a total of 3,031 deaths recorded in July so far which is an average of 116.6 deaths per day.
The Ministry of Health has reported 9,372 new recoveries and a total of 853,913 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 83.07% while the mortality rate is now 0.80%.
There are currently 165,840 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 1,009 are in ICU while 524 require respiratory support.
Out of the 14,516 new cases today, 3 are imported while 14,513 are transmitted locally. Selangor still tops the list with 6,508 cases, followed by Johor with 1,449 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 1,425 cases and Kedah with 1,160 cases.
