Malaysia has recorded 10,710 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 916,561. There are 153 new deaths reported which is a new record high and the death toll is now 7,019.
The Ministry of Health has reported 5,778 new recoveries and a total of 784,949 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 85.64% while the mortality rate is now 0.77%.
There are currently 124,593 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 909 are in ICU while 445 require respiratory support.
Out of the 10,710 new cases today, 12 are imported while 10,698 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 4,828 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 945 cases, Johor with 808 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 771 cases.
