Malaysia has recorded 12,528 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 905,851. There are 138 new deaths reported which is a record high since the start of the pandemic. The COVID-19 death toll is now 6,866. In July so far, a total of 1,696 deaths were recorded which is an average of 99.7 deaths per day.
The Ministry of Health has reported 6,629 new recoveries and a total of 779,171 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 86.02% while the mortality rate is now 0.76%.
There are currently 119,814 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 908 are in ICU while 425 require respiratory support.
Out of the 12,528 new cases today, 19 are imported while 12,509 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 4,985 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 1,740 cases, Negeri Sembilan with 1,280 cases and Kedah with 701 cases.
