Malaysia has recorded 7,097 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 799,790. There are 91 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 5,768.
The Ministry of Health has reported 4,863 new recoveries and a total of 719,678 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 89.98% while the mortality rate is now 0.72%.
There are currently 74,344 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 948 are in ICU while 441 require respiratory support.
Out of the 7,097 new cases today, 26 are imported while 7,071 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 3,119 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 1,005 cases, Negeri Sembilan with 788 cases and Melaka with 358 cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified 18 new clusters today and 6 are workplace-related. Below is the breakdown of new clusters by state.
