Malaysia has recorded 6,045 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 778,652. There are 63 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 5,497.
The Ministry of Health has reported 5,271 new recoveries and a total of 705,486 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 90.60% while the mortality rate is at 0.71%.
There are currently 67,669 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 917 are in ICU while 443 require respiratory support.
Out of the 6,045 new cases today, 20 are imported while 6,025 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 2,262 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 616 cases, Negeri Sembilan with 531 cases and Johor with 500 cases.
