In a pretty clever marketing ploy, T-Mobile is selling their own 5G-branded alcohol—Ultra Capacity 5Gin. The company also released their own Extended Range 5Ginger Beer to compliment the liquor, but it’s already sold out.
“T-Mobile is now serving 5G to 300 million people and counting! To celebrate, we’ve infused the spirit of the Un-carrier into an actual spirit: Ultra Capacity #5Gin, plus our non-alcoholic Extended Range #5GingerBeer,” wrote T-Mobile in their YouTube video’s description box.
The limited edition T-Mobile Ultra Capacity 5Gin is traditional style gin is distilled on Juniper, Coriander, and Sweet Orange Peel. It has “approachable piney notes and a long citrus peppery finish”.
A 750ml bottle of the 47% ABV liquor is only available in limited quantities. The price is USD 30 (RM124.66) per bottle, and its estimated shipping date is 25 June 2021. However, the alcohol cannot be shipped outside of the U.S. as well as several states in the U.S. so do check on their site before you buy it.
Along with the release of their 5Gin, T-Mobile also introduced their own Extended Range 5Ginger Beer that “goes down smooth on its own while mixing perfectly” with the gin for USD 10 (RM41.56). However, they’re already sold out.
“Extended Range 5G network now covers 300 million people in the U.S., a milestone we hit months ahead of schedule. And Ultra Capacity 5G now covers 150 million people. This is important, and not everything that’s important has to be boring!” explained T-Mobile in response to why they were introducing their own drinks.
Ultra Capacity 5Gin and Extended Range 5Ginger Beer are currently limited-edition drinks and T-Mobile doesn’t have plans to make more at this time. However, as their 5Ginger Beer uses Jones Soda Co. ginger beer, T-Mobile recommends that you reach out to Jones if you’re interested in purchasing more.
