Malaysia has recorded 5,911 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 691,115. There are 72 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 4,348.
The Ministry of Health has reported 6,918 new recoveries and a total of 622,244 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 90.03% while the mortality rate is now 0.63%.
There are currently 64,523 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 886 are in ICU while 441 require respiratory support.
Out of the 5,911 new cases today, 1 is imported while 5,910 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 2,111 cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan 770 cases, Sarawak with 569 cases and Johor with 498 cases.
