Malaysia has recorded 6,824 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 572,357. There are 67 new deaths reported and the death toll is now at 2,796. For this month alone, a total of 1,290 people have died due to COVID-19.
The Ministry of Health has reported 5,251 new recoveries and a total of 490,038 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 85.62% while the mortality rate is now 0.49%.
There are currently 79,523 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 851 are in ICU while 422 require respiratory support.
Out of the 6,824 new cases today, 3 are imported while 6,821 are transmitted locally. Selangor continues to record the most with 2,111 cases, followed by Kelantan with 695 cases, Sarawak with 654 cases and Johor with 489 cases.
