Malaysia has recorded 7,857 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 541,224. There are 59 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 2,491.
The Ministry of Health has reported 4,598 new recoveries and a total of 469,325 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 86.72% while the mortality rate is now 0.46%.
There are currently 69,408 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 771 are in ICU while 392 require respiratory support.
Out of the 7,857 new cases today, 8 are imported while 7,849 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 2,675 cases, followed by Sarawak with 772 cases, Kelantan with 754 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 561 cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified 20 new clusters today and 8 are community-related in Johor, Kelantan and Sabah. Below is the list of new clusters:
