MySejahtera app also had issues during AstraZeneca Round 2 open booking

At 12pm today, there was a mad rush for the AstraZeneca Round 2 opt-in booking which was made available for all adults under 60 years of age. Besides the vaksincovid.gov.my website, MySejahtera had also experienced some technical issues where several functions were not available.

The problem started around 12.20pm and users had problems loading certain pages including the vaccination page. At 12.40pm, MySejahtera had tweeted that the app is facing high traffic and as a result, certain features were inaccessible.

When we load the app around 1.19pm, there’s a pop-up message that reads “MySejahtera is currently undergoing scheduled maintenance. Please try again later. We regret the inconvenience caused.”

If you’re wondering what’s the connection between MySejahtera and the vaccination program, it is probably due to a new field in the Round 2 booking form. Individuals were asked to enter their MySejahtera ID which can be found on the Profile tab of the app. Due to the sheer number of bookings, it appears that the app had struggled to cope with a large number of users checking their profile details. Eventually, the MySejahtera app was working fine at around 1.50pm.

The AstraZeneca Round 2 opt-in programme which offered over 1.2 million doses in total was closed before 1.30pm. Those that have booked their slots will receive their appointment details very soon. If you’ve received the notification, you are urged to confirm the appointment time within 48 hours.
