COVID-19: 4,765 new cases and record-high 39 deaths today, over 2,000 new cases in Selangor

Malaysia has recorded 4,765 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 453,222. There are 39 new deaths reported which is a new record high and the death toll is now 1,761.

The Ministry of Health has reported 3,124 new recoveries and a total of 411,360 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 90.76% while the mortality rate has risen to 0.39%.

There are currently 40,101 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 469 are in ICU while 244 require respiratory support.

Out of the 4,765 new cases today, 7 are imported while 4,758 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 2,082 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 540 cases, Sarawak with 405 cases and Johor with 348 cases.
